Omri Harmelin was born in 1984 in Pretoria, South Africa. At a young age he moved to Israel where he grew up and attended the Midrasha School of Art (2007-2011). Currently Harmelin moved back to Tel Aviv, Israel after living and working for the past 6 years in New York City, where he received with honors his MFA from Pratt Institute (2013-2015).
Harmelin’s work tackles familiar narratives and issues of visual culture, mass media and politics. Harmelin’s work was exhibited and displayed in numerous places and venues around the US and Europe, including Pierre Berge, Paris, France, the Crisp-Ellert Art Museum, St Augustine, FL and Pierogi Gallery in NY.
